KUALA LUMPUR –Tradewinds Corporation
Berhad (formerly known as Pernas International Holdings
Berhad) today unveiled its new logo in line with its
corporate re-branding exercise. The much anticipated
launch marks another milestone, after the group’s
change of name in July 2004.
YB Tan Sri Nor Mohamed Yakcop, Minister of Finance II,
launched Tradewinds Corporation Berhad’s new logo
in a ceremony held at Mutiara Kuala Lumpur. Also in
attendance were Dato’ Seri Megat Najmuddin Megat
Khas, Chairman of Tradewinds Corporation Berhad and
En Mohd Redza Shah Bin Abdul Wahid, its Group Chief
Executive Officer.
According to En Mohd Redza “The new name and logo
better reflects the beginning of a new era of further
growth and success that is in store for the company.
The name Tradewinds also better encapsulates the company’s
status as the ultimate holding company of its largest
investment subsidiary – Tradewinds (M) Berhad.”
He elaborated that the image of the new logo was a reflection
of progress and dynamic growth of the company. At the
same time, it also encapsulates the four core business
activities that have been the driving force behind the
Group’s advancement and achievements.
With the corporate rebranding in place, the company
will continue to seek out quality investments and pursue
new growth opportunities in addition to its various
core businesses that range from manufacturing to plantations
to hotel and property investment and development.
Currently, Tradewinds Corporations’ emphasis is
to consolidate and strengthen its involvement in existing
profitable business areas and add further value into
the company. Restructuring exercises have progressed
well and with the launch of the new logo, the company
is now ready for the next phase of revitalising the
group and its businesses.
En Mohd Redza also informed that other subsidiaries
that bear the Pernas name will be renamed to bear the
Tradewinds Corporation name and logo accordingly.
The name change was proposed in April this year and
the shareholders subsequently approved the application
at the 37 th Annual General meeting held on June 29,
2004. The new name came into effect with the issuance
of the Certificate of Change of Name from the Companies
Commission of Malaysia on July 2, 2004.
