Tradewinds Corporation Berhad has announced the appointment of Shaharul Farez Hassan as the Group Chief Executive Officer effective 2 January 2008. Most recently, Farez was the Chief Executive Officer of Tradewinds Hotels & Resorts Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Tradewinds Corporation. Farez succeeds Azlan Abdullah who has been appointed Group Chief Executive Officer of Tradewinds (M) Berhad.
Prior to his appointment at the Group's hotel division, Farez was the Group Chief Financial Officer of Tradewinds Corporation Berhad. He began his career with Arthur Andersen and in 1993 was made Amanah Merchant Bank's Deputy Manager of Corporate Finance before taking on senior positions with Malaysian Resources Corporation Berhad between 1996 and 2001 which includes General Manager of Business Development & Corporate Affairs, Entrepreneur Development and Special Assistant to the President's Office, Corporate Finance.
Farez, 38, holds a bachelors degree in Economics and Accounting from the University of Bristol, United Kingdom. |
